Although the movement received a new battery in January 2020 and currently keeps accurate time with all functions working perfectly as they should, a new battery may be needed at any time. Given this and considering that the movement has never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. This Seiko Velatura, which dates to August 2007, has a pristine dial and lume on both the dial and hands that emits a glow in darkness. The fixed bezel shows honest wear as does the massive case. The outer edge of the case back is stamped SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL ST. STEEL 7T62-OHDO WATER RESISTANT 10BAR MOVEMENT JAPAN AO" with "SEIKO" followed by "VELATURA" and "784773 stamped in the center.

The crystal has some tiny chips that can only be seen under high magnification. While I normally show movement pics for the watches that I put up for sale, in this case my watchmaker torqued the back too tight for me to remove after he installed a new battery in January 2020.

The movement keeps accurate time, the date wheel rolls over as it should and the alarm works great. All chronograph functions work precisely as expected. Given that the battery is at the tail end of its life and considering that the movement has never been serviced an overhaul is recommended to ensure its health for many years to come. This watch measures approximately 42 mm excluding the crown, approximately 50 mm including the crown and approximately 29 mm between the flared lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 11 mm.

The crystal adds no thickness. This watch comes on its original stainless steel with black accented bracelet which fits my approximate 6.5 inch wrist perfectly when set on the loosest clasp/buckle setting. No spare links are included so this bracelet will not accommodate a wrist larger than approximately 6.5 inches. Although the movement received a new battery in January 2020 and currently works perfectly as it should, a new battery may be needed at any time.

As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
